Your Android TV box,
with UCA My Home.
A clean home screen for your TV box, a remote on your phone, "what is playing", and your voice through the TV - steered from the UCA My Home panel and by UCA Core. This guide installs and activates it in about 15 minutes. Or let an AI do it for you over adb (below).
What you need
Step by step
- Developer mode on the TV.
Settings → Device preferences → About → press OK on Build 7 times.
- Turn on debugging.
Settings → Developer options → turn on USB debugging / Network debugging (ADB).
- Note the TV's IP address.
Settings → Network → your Wi-Fi. It looks like 192.168.1.50.
- Run the commands on your PC (next card).
The TV asks "Allow USB debugging?" - tick Always and press OK.
- Open UCA My Home.
Press Home on the remote. Hold OK on Settings (top right) → Launcher settings → Panel: link this TV. A 6-character code appears.
- Link the TV to you.
On your phone or PC open myhome.ucagg.de/link - signed in, or from your UCA ID with "Open · signed in" - and type the code. Your TV now shows in the panel and UCA Core knows it by its name.

Optional: hide the stock launcher (it comes back with pm enable). Find it with adb shell cmd package resolve-activity -a android.intent.action.MAIN -c android.intent.category.HOME, then adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 <package>. On Google TV it is com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherx. Never uninstall it.
Undo: adb uninstall de.ucagg.home.

Steps 1-3 on the TV are yours (developer mode, debugging, the IP). Then paste this into Claude Code or Codex on your PC - it runs the adb part and tells you when to link the TV:
Install UCA My Home on my Android TV box at <TV_IP>. Use adb: connect to <TV_IP>:5555, download https://myhome.ucagg.de/download/uca-my-home.apk, install it, make de.ucagg.home/.MainActivity the Home activity, enable the accessibility services de.ucagg.home/.InputKeyService and de.ucagg.home/.RemoteService (keep any already enabled), allow the notification listener de.ucagg.home/de.ucagg.home.UcaMedia, allow GET_USAGE_STATS, grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS, then open the launcher. Do not uninstall or disable anything else unless I confirm. Before pressing keys, check `dumpsys window | grep mCurrentFocus` and don't interrupt playback. Then tell me to open Settings → Launcher settings → Panel: link this TV, and type the code at https://myhome.ucagg.de/link.
Then ask UCA Core
On your UCA ID page press Ask Core and talk or type: "What is the living room TV watching?" · "Show me the TV live" · "Say dinner is ready on the TV" · "Turn the TV off in 30 minutes". Core runs on your own AI key - Gemini has a free tier.
Pair it, and your phone and PCs too
Open UCA My Home on the TV: it shows a code. On your UCA ID page open Devices › Add a device and type it - or in UCA AI on Windows: Control Centre › Devices › Add.
Your phone: install UCA My Home Mobile and pair it the same way. Your other computers: the UCA Mesh Agent. All of it is free with UCA ID Standard.
Drop a file or a link on the pool in UCA AI and pick the TV: it lands in Received on the TV, with a progress bar and a notice when it is there.
